Description
Don'ka soybean variety is an early-maturing and high-yielding variety widely grown in Ukraine and adapted for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe zones. This variety is characterized by high yields, reaching 45-55 c/ha (4.2-4.7 t/ha), and can successfully develop both under irrigation and in dry farming conditions. The vegetative period is approximately 100-110 days, allowing effective use in crop rotation.
Plants of the Don'ka variety are tall, reaching heights from 90 to 150 cm, with characteristic high placement of lower pods at a level of 18-20 cm above the soil surface. Flowers have a purple hue, and stems and pods have a reddish pubescence. Seeds are yellow, smooth, and shiny, of medium size, with a barely noticeable hilum. The 1000-seed mass varies from 187 to 210 g. Don'ka soybean is distinguished by its high content of crude protein (40-42%) and fat (20-21%), making it a valuable raw material for food and feed industries.
The variety exhibits high resistance to pest infestations and viral infections, as well as lodging, stem breakage, and pod cracking. The recommended planting rate is 550-600 thousand seeds per hectare, with an optimal plant density at harvest of 400-450 thousand per hectare and row spacing of 40-56 cm. Due to its agronomic characteristics and resistance to stress factors, Don'ka is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high-quality soybean yields.
