NS KATYA

NS KATYA — an early-maturing soybean variety (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) intended for cultivation in the Far East region, specifically in the Khabarovsk Krai. The plant has a determinate growth type, medium to tall, with a height of about 81.8 cm and a lower pod attachment height of 15.9 cm. The stem has grey pubescence, side leaflets of the complex leaf are lanceolate-ovate, and flowers are colored purple. Seeds are of medium size, elongated-flattened, yellow with a yellow hilum; the mass of 1000 seeds is 182.1 g. The vegetative period of the variety is about 109-117 days, which ensures early maturity. Average yield in the region reaches 18.1 c/ha, while maximum yield indicators can reach 32.7-41 c/ha, confirming the high productivity of the variety. Protein content in seeds is 44.4%, and fat content is 18.1%, making the variety valuable for both feed and food and technical use. NS KATYA possesses resistance to diseases such as ascochitis and rust, which increases crop reliability. The recommended sowing rate is 60–70 viable seeds per square meter with a row spacing of 15 to 45 cm. For optimal growth, phosphorus (60–80 kg/ha d.w.) and potassium (40–60 kg/ha d.w.) application is required, while nitrogen is recommended only on poor soils at a dose of 30 kg/ha d.w. Seed treatment with inoculants is mandatory, and at least one herbicide treatment is required for weed control.
