Anastasia

Anastasia is a high-yield variety of sorghum (Sorghum Drummondii), created through individual and family-group selection of the most productive plants with high intensity of initial growth and regrowth after grazing. The plant is distinguished by a deep-rooted root system, which ensures resistance to drought, lodging, and damage from diseases and pests. Due to these properties, Anastasia is suitable for both green fodder production and hay production.

The variety reaches a height of up to 250 cm and has a vegetation period of about 120 days. Under stable positive temperatures and soil warming to 9‑11 °C, it is planted manually (2 kg/100 m²) or with a seeder (20‑25 kg/ha). The first cut is made after 65‑70 days, the second after 40‑45 days, and the third after 30 days. The recommended mowing height is 6‑8 cm, which allows obtaining two to four cuts per season.

Anastasia ensures high protein content (up to 11% in green mass) and carbohydrates (about 70%), as well as vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, carotene, and trace elements Fe, Mg, Zn, Mn, K. Average yield of green mass is up to 40 t/ha, hay is 5‑9 t/ha, and seeds are up to 300 kg/ha. Sorghum hay is considered one of the best in protein content among cereal feeds and does not lag behind young corn silage in energy value.
