FD Rugby

FD Rugby — classic diploid sugar beet hybrid designed for high yields with increased sugar content. This variety features high root yield, reaching 87.5 tons per hectare, and sugar content of 18.3%. The roots have an oval-conical shape and are embedded in the soil by 85-87%, facilitating mechanized harvesting. The recommended seeding rate is 1.4 seeding units per hectare, and the vegetative period of the hybrid is approximately 142 days, allowing its use for early planting in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe.

The FD Rugby hybrid exhibits high resistance to major sugar beet diseases, such as anthracnose root rot, cercosporosis, rhizomania, and powdery mildew. Additionally, the variety demonstrates good drought and cold tolerance, making it a reliable choice for cultivation under variable climatic conditions. The plant's leaf rosette is of medium size, dark green in color, and spreading in shape, which promotes efficient photosynthesis and root development.

FD Rugby is characterized by good storability and resistance to bolting, ensuring the preservation of the yield during storage. Due to its features, this hybrid is suitable for medium-term harvest periods and optimal for mechanized cultivation.
