«Rizolt» is a selection development by the Institute of Sugar Beet of the UAAS, specifically designed for Ukrainian soil and climatic conditions. This is a Normal-Sugar (NZ) type variety chosen by farms focusing on high gross tonnage of root crops with moderate investment in fungicidal protection.

When to choose «Rizolt»?

The primary goal of this hybrid is to minimize risks in fields with high infection pressure. It is selected for plots where pathogens have accumulated due to crop rotation issues or specific soil microflora:

• Combating root rot complexes: Thanks to genetic resistance to Rhizoctonia and Rhizomania, the variety maintains plant density even in seasons with conditions favorable for fungal infections.
• Reducing fungicidal input: Resistance to Cercospora leaf spot and powdery mildew reduces the number of scheduled sprayings, directly impacting the production cost per ton.
• Volume performance: The large root size of this variety ensures high biomass output per hectare. The NZ-type allows for decent sugar content while maintaining strong yield performance.

Practical agronomic aspects

In field conditions, «Rizolt» shows excellent response to intensive cultivation technology. The variety forms a robust leaf rosette that closes rows quickly, providing natural shade and suppressing weed competition, which lowers post-emergence herbicide costs. When planning the harvest, note that the variety features a uniform root shape, simplifying the adjustment of beet harvesters and minimizing losses during mechanical harvesting. This is the optimal choice for farms where yield stability is critical in the face of high risks of soil-borne diseases.
