RK 1

RK 1 is a mid-maturing hybrid of sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L. ssp. vulgaris var. saccharifera Alef.), characterized by high yield and good sugar content. The plant is single-seeded, triploid on a sterile N-type base, ensuring stable formation of root crops weighing about 560 g. The hybrid is distinguished by high root crop yield, reaching an average of 443 ц/ga, and sugar content of about 18.1%, allowing a sugar harvest of up to 80 ц/ga with a probable factory output of about 69 ц/ga.

RK 1 exhibits resistance to a number of diseases, including root rot and root maggot, although strong infestation by root maggot and moderate susceptibility to Cercospora are noted in some regions. The plant is tall, which promotes good development and crop formation. The hybrid is recommended for cultivation in the Central Black Earth and North Caucasus regions, where it shows stable yield and product quality indicators.
