RMS 503

RMS 503 is a sugar beet hybrid intended for obtaining high yields with excellent quality characteristics. This mid-season hybrid is distinguished by a technological root shape, which is easily harvested from the soil with a low contamination degree; the root immersion is about three quarters. RMS 503 has high resistance to root rots, as well as moderate resistance to cercosporosis, ramulariosis, and powdery mildew, which ensures reliable cultivation in various conditions.

The hybrid is characterized by high yield and sugar content. In various regions of Russia, including the Central Black Earth and Volga-Vyatka, root yield reaches from 496.7 to 542.5 centners per hectare, and sugar content varies from 18.0% to 21.8%. The maximum yield recorded on experimental plots is 774 centners per hectare. The potential productivity of the hybrid according to the originator data reaches 83-88 tons per hectare, while sugar content is in the range of 18.3-20.3%, and sugar recovery reaches 15.2-21.8%.

RMS 503 is resistant to fusarium wilt, viral mosaic, powdery mildew, flowering, and silo rot.
