Description
Briana sunflower is a medium-early, simple interline hybrid of intensive type with a vegetation period of about 105 days. It is developed for cultivation using Clearfield technology, which ensures effective weed control and allows the use of modern herbicides. The hybrid features low plant height and a flower head diameter of 20-21 cm, facilitating harvesting and improving crop quality.
Briana has a high yield potential, reaching up to 52-54 centners per hectare, with an average yield of about 29 centners per hectare. One of its key features is exceptionally high oil content in seeds — over 50% — making it particularly attractive for producing high-quality sunflower oil. Additionally, the hybrid exhibits genetic resistance to stem and flower head diseases, contributing to stable yields.
The hybrid is drought-tolerant and adaptable to adverse growing conditions, and it also shows high resistance to five races of sunflower parasite — aphid (A-F) — ensuring reliable protection and stable yields even under stress conditions. Recommended seeding density at harvest is 55-65 thousand plants per hectare under adequate moisture and 45-50 thousand under insufficient moisture. Seeds are supplied with fungicides, microfertilizers, and growth stimulators, further enhancing their germination and disease resistance.
