Odessa 249

Sunflower hybrid Odessa 249 is an early-maturing variety with small, black seeds. The average 1000-seed weight is 70-72 grams, and plant height ranges from 115 to 170 cm. Flower heads are medium-sized with a diameter of 18-20 cm and slightly convex shape. This variety is characterized by uniform flowering and maturation, ensuring timely harvest on day 103-112 after sowing. Recommended planting density is 60-70 thousand plants per hectare, which contributes to achieving optimal yield.

Odessa 249 exhibits high resistance to lodging and good drought tolerance, as well as low shattering of seeds. Seed yield reaches 24-24.5 centners per hectare depending on growing conditions. The variety is primarily used for oil production, with oil content in seeds ranging from 48-50%. High yield of conditioned seed material makes this sunflower attractive for farmers focused on oil production.

The hybrid has stable biological resistance to diseases, including genetic resistance to gray and white mold, enhancing reliability in various climatic conditions. Due to its characteristics such as early maturity, high oil content, and adaptability to dry conditions, Odessa 249 is an effective choice for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine.
