Zabava — a mid-early sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) variety included in the State Register for the Ural and West Siberian regions. Plants reach high maturity height, have green leaves with slight reticulation. Flowers are yellow, ligulate, without branching. Seeds are large, oval-shaped, making this variety popular for producing confectionery-type snack seeds. The 1000-seed mass varies from 75.4 to 86.8 grams, and the vegetative period ranges from 108 to 112 days. The variety is characterized by high yield: average yields are 14.3 centners per hectare in the Ural region and 18 centners per hectare in the West Siberian region, with maximum values reaching 21.6 and 31.8 centners per hectare respectively. The average oil content in seeds ranges from 48-49%, ensuring oil extraction at approximately 5 centners per hectare. Zabava demonstrates good drought resistance and high disease resistance, enhancing yield stability under various climatic conditions. A notable feature of the variety is its high competitiveness against weeds during early vegetative stages due to good leafiness, promoting rapid growth and development in early stages, which is critical for yield formation. The variety is suitable for cultivation in moderate climate regions and is in demand both among oil producers and on the market for edible seeds.
