Description
The winter triticale variety Ariozo is intended for feed use and is characterized by high productivity and resistance to adverse conditions. Plants reach a height of 114 to 195 cm, depending on growing conditions, and have a long vegetative period from 205 to 283 days. The above-ground mass of the variety retains its green color for a long time, which allows for effective use in the green conveyor belt and to obtain high yields of green mass with a potential of more than 90 tons per hectare.
Ariozo was bred by the method of individual selection from a hybrid combination involving varieties Bashkirsky, Allegro, and Konveyer. It is distinguished by medium resistance to lodging and increased drought resistance, as well as resistance to diseases such as brown rust, leaf septoria, and yellow rust. The ear is white, medium length, with short axes; the grain is red, and the weight of 1000 grains varies from 35 to 47 grams.
The variety is included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of Russia and is recommended for cultivation in various regions of the country. The yield of dry matter of the Ariozo variety reaches high figures: from 54.4 centners/ha in the Volga-Vyatsky region to 122.0 centners/ha in the Central Black Earth region, with the maximum yield recorded in the Voronezh region and amounting to 225.8 centners/ha. These characteristics make Ariozo a reliable and productive choice for feed production.
