Arktur

The winter triticale variety Arctur is the result of joint breeding work by the Federal Scientific Center 'Nemchinovka' and the Samara Research Institute of Agricultural Sciences. It is intended for grain use and recommended for cultivation in the Middle Volga region. The plant is characterized by mid-early flowering time and a medium stem height of 80 to 100 cm. The ear is fully awned, with the coleoptile weakly colored in anthocyanin. The average mass of 1000 grains is about 45.1 g, while in some regions large-grainedness is noted with a mass up to 55-60 g. The variety has good baking qualities, including raw gluten content of 23-24% and flour strength of 250 W. Arctur is distinguished by high yield and resistance to various diseases and adverse conditions. In the Middle Volga region, the average grain yield reaches 40.7 centners/ha, with maximum indicators up to 90.9 centners/ha. In Samara Oblast, the yield is 5.0-6.0 tons/ha, while in Moscow Oblast it exceeds 10 tons/ha. The variety possesses group resistance to rust, powdery mildew, powdery and solid bunt, and is tolerant to fusarium of the ear, septoria, and snow mold. In addition, it is highly resistant to lodging, adverse winter factors, and water deficiency in soil and atmosphere. Arctur is a promising crop for grain production due to the combination of high productivity, disease and stress resistance, as well as high technological grain qualities. It is recommended for use in agro-technologies of the Middle Volga region, providing stable and high yields under average protection and agrotechnics. Thanks to these characteristics, Arctur is of interest to agricultural producers focused on obtaining quality grain with good baking properties.
