Papsuyevska

Papsuyevska — this is an winter triticale variety, developed and registered in 2005 by the agrocorporation «Stepova». It is recommended for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including Polissia, Forest-steppe and Steppe. The variety belongs to the medium-maturing group, reaching full maturity in 297–302 days. The plant is medium-height, 127 to 140 cm tall, with a strong erect bush and high branching. The stem is hollow with slight hairs on the upper internodes, and the ear is long, cylindrical, medium density, white in color with a slight waxy coating. The grain of Papsuyevska has an egg-shaped form, yellow-white color and slight wrinkling. The thousand-grain weight ranges from 52.3 to 54.8 grams. The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness (8.6–8.9 points) and resistance to lodging (7.0 points), shattering (8.9–9.0 points) and drought (8.8–8.9 points). Over the years of testing, the variety showed weak susceptibility to major diseases. Average grain yield varies depending on the cultivation zone: in Steppe — 58.4 c/ha, in Forest-steppe — 66.3 c/ha, in Polissia — 55.4 c/ha, with a guaranteed increase in yield of 7.8 c/ha. Protein content in the grain ranges from 14.2 to 16.6%. Papsuyevska is intended for use both as grain and for feed purposes. The grain has high baking and milling qualities: protein content 12.8–14.5%, crude gluten 24–28%, gluten deformation index 65 conditional points, flour strength 180 conditional units. The loaf volume without improvers reaches 620 ml, and the overall baking quality score is 8.5 points. Potential grain yield may reach 10 tons per hectare, and green mass yield — up to 50 tons per hectare. The variety is recommended for cultivation in all zones of Ukraine, making it a universal and reliable choice for agricultural producers.
