Description
QUAZAR is a winter triticale (X Triticosecale Wittm. ex A. Camus) variety intended for grain-forage use. Plants of this variety have an average height, ranging from 89 to 127 cm, with average lodging resistance. The ear is long, slightly colored, of medium density or dense, fully awned with short awns at the end. The grain is red, elongated, and of medium size; the mass of 1000 grains ranges from 34.2 to 42.6 g. The vegetative period lasts from 226 to 285 days, ensuring adaptation to the climatic conditions of the growing region. Average grain yield at autumn sowing reaches 25.0 c/ha, corresponding to the average standard, while at spring sowing it is 15.4 c/ha, exceeding the standard Dvuruchka 77 by 6.5 c/ha. Dry matter yield is 53.4 c/ha. The variety is characterized by average winter hardiness and drought resistance at the level of standards, making it suitable for cultivation in the Stavropol Krai and similar regions. In field conditions, QUAZAR demonstrates weak infection by powdery mildew and septoria, which increases its disease resistance and reduces the need for intensive plant protection. Studies have shown that the genotype of the QUAZAR variety affects callusgenesis and plant regeneration processes, which is important for biotechnological methods of multiplication and selection. During regeneration, up to six shoots may form from one callus, indicating a high ability to recovery and adaptation. These features make the variety promising for further improvement and implementation in agricultural production.
