Description
The winter triticale variety "Stavropolskiy 5" is a highly productive and stable crop designed for cultivation in the North Caucasus region. It belongs to medium-early maturing varieties with a vegetation period of about 291-300 days and is characterized by above-average winter hardiness. Plants reach a height of from 115 to 155 cm depending on growing conditions, and the ear has a spindle shape and dense structure, which contributes to high yield.
The variety's grains are small, light red in color, with a mass of 1000 grains ranging from 35 to 52 g. The variety differs in high productivity, exceeding 90 c/ha, and contains a significant amount of protein — about 13.7% in the grain and 8.6% in green mass. "Stavropolskiy 5" is resistant to lodging and has medium resistance to snow mold, while being above average affected by brown rust and weakly affected by the beetle bug.
This variety is widely used in agriculture both for obtaining high grain yields and as a feed crop due to the high yield of green mass, reaching 56.8 t/ha. Its high resistance to drought and diseases makes "Stavropolskiy 5" a reliable choice for sowing in the conditions of the North Caucasus region.
