Description
Sudogda is a new spring triticale variety created by mass selection of high-yielding plants resistant to lodging, brown rust, and stem rust. This medium-early variety is characterized by high winter hardiness (95%), resistance to lodging (5.0 points), and drought resistance (4.5 points). Sudogda is tolerant to brown and stem rust, as well as having a medium degree of leaf septoria infection, which ensures crop stability in various climatic conditions of the North-West region of Russia.
The plant is medium-long with an intermediate bush type and a fully awned head. The average weight of 1000 grains is 40.4 g, grain naturalness is 704 g/l, vitreousness is 79%, and protein content in the grain reaches 15%, exceeding the standard by 0.5%. These indicators indicate high grain quality suitable for grain-forage use. The average yield of the variety is 4.68 t/ha, with maximum values up to 6.96 t/ha in favorable years, which is significantly higher than standard indicators.
The Sudogda variety is adapted to the soil and climatic conditions of the North-West region, especially effective on light podzolic slightly acidic soils with low organic matter content. Thanks to its stress resistance and ability to form a high yield on complex soils, this variety represents a promising solution for agricultural producers seeking a stable and high-quality triticale crop.
