Snegurochka

The 'Snegurochka' turnip variety is an early-maturing domestic variety, maturing in 47 to 60 days after germination. The root crops have a round shape with a white smooth skin and a thin axial root, with an average weight of 60–70 grams. The flesh is white, very juicy, tender, and sweet, containing almost no mustard oils, which gives it a mild taste without pungency and bitterness. This variety is valued for its high content of vitamins and minerals, as well as beneficial fiber, making it especially suitable for dietary, children's, and therapeutic nutrition, including recommendations for diabetes and obesity.

The 'Snegurochka' variety is well adapted to various growing conditions, successfully grows in both open and protected ground. It is shade-tolerant, resistant to bolting and most diseases, and also possesses good cold hardiness. Yield varies depending on conditions: in open ground it is 3.0–3.5 kg/m², while in protected ground it can reach 6.3–7.5 kg/m². Turnip leaves are non-hairy, juicy and tender, contain a vitamin complex, and can be used as salad greens.

For growing the variety, sowing seeds at a depth of 1.5–2 cm with row spacing of 12×5–6 cm on fertile loamy and clay loam soils is recommended. Turnips are moisture-loving, require regular watering, loosening and weeding to maintain moderate soil moisture throughout the vegetation period. The variety is suitable for fresh consumption, as well as for boiling, stewing, steaming and baking, which expands its possibilities in cooking and therapeutic nutrition.
