The Ferjan variety of hazelnut is a new promising variety with fruiting on lateral branches, ensuring early fruiting at the age of 5-7 years. The nuts ripen relatively late and have a spherical shape with a thin, slightly scaly shell. The nut size is medium, usually 28 to 32 mm, with halves firmly attached to each other. The kernel separates easily from the shell and constitutes 46-50% of the total nut weight, making this variety especially attractive for producing shelled kernels.
The Ferjan variety is characterized by high productivity, yielding approximately 4 tons of dried nuts per hectare on average. The nuts have good taste qualities and store well, which is important for long-term storage and product marketing. Due to its growth structure and fruiting characteristics, this variety is suitable for intensive cultivation and industrial hazelnut production.
