The 'Pamяти Paseki' hazelnut variety is a medium-sized, medium-maturing tree with a spherical crown, cultivated using semi-intensive technology with a terminal fruiting type. This variety has a protogynous flowering type, where catkins bloom later and ensure good pollination. The tree can produce a large annual yield, with a 25-year-old mother tree yielding up to 60 kg of fruit. The variety was named in honor of the collective farm accountant, grandfather Paseki, who planted these hazelnuts near his house and the village school. The 'Pamяти Paseki' hazelnut fruits are large, measuring 5-6 cm in height and 4-4.5 cm in width, weighing 35-40 g in their raw state. The nuts have a thin shell that easily crushes with a finger, and the kernel is elongated and light-colored with a loose, 3-4 mm thick skin. The kernel weighs approximately 11 g, and the kernel extraction rate from the fruit varies between 40% and 47%, depending on nutrient and watering conditions. To achieve a high-quality yield, adequate moisture, potassium, and calcium are essential, especially during the second half of summer, when dry matter accumulates in the kernel. For planting, a spacing of 10x10 m, 8x8 m, or 9x9 m is recommended, which promotes optimal tree development and fruiting. The 'Pamяти Paseki' variety is well-adapted to cultivation conditions and features stable yields, making it attractive to gardeners seeking large, high-quality hazelnuts.
