Acanthoderes funeraria is a species of longhorn beetle (Cerambycidae) belonging to the subfamily Lamiinae. As a member of the order Coleoptera, this insect is specialized in utilizing woody tissues for its larval development. It is primarily found in regions where deciduous forest ecosystems provide suitable host plants for its life cycle.

The beetle targets a variety of deciduous trees, with a strong preference for stressed, decaying, or recently fallen timber. While it rarely attacks perfectly healthy, vigorous trees, it thrives in environments where forest sanitation is neglected, making it a critical indicator of the health status of a woody plant community.

The biological development follows a holometabolous cycle. Females deposit eggs into the bark of host trees. Upon hatching, the larvae tunnel into the cambium and xylem layers.
