Acaphyllisa is a genus of microscopic four-legged mites belonging to the Eriophyidae family. These pests are characterized by their extremely small size, which makes them difficult to detect at the initial stages of infestation without the use of professional magnifying equipment or microscopes.

Systematically, this genus is included in the superfamily Eriophyoidea. Mites of this family are obligate phytophagous organisms that often show high host specificity. Their vermiform bodies allow them to navigate efficiently into plant structures such as leaf axils, buds, and beneath the epidermis of the host plant, providing them with protection.
