The genus Aculepeira belongs to the orb-weaver family (Araneidae). While they primarily function as predators in many ecosystems, in intensive agricultural settings, their web-spinning behavior can become a nuisance for growers, as the dense webs interfere with daily cultivation practices, pruning, and harvesting operations.
These spiders typically inhabit orchard trees, vineyards, and dense vegetable crops. They construct large, radial webs anchored between plant stems or branches.
