The hairy mite (Aculus comatus) is a member of the Arachnida class, order Acariformes, and the family Eriophyidae, commonly known as four-legged mites. These microscopic pests are highly specialized, often causing significant damage to the foliage and buds of their host plants through intensive sap-feeding.
This species primarily targets plants within the Rosaceae family, with a particular affinity for the Rubus genus, such as blackberries.
