Africaleurodes is a genus of small insects belonging to the family Aleyrodidae, commonly known as whiteflies, within the order Hemiptera. These pests are known for their ability to thrive in warm climates and cause significant economic losses in both commercial agriculture and ornamental plant nurseries by extracting vital plant fluids.

The host range of Africaleurodes typically includes a variety of woody plants and shrubs. They are frequently identified on citrus trees, Ficus species, and various ornamental flora. Because they often inhabit the sheltered underside of leaves, they can go undetected during the early stages of infestation, allowing populations to reach damaging levels before a grower notices the signs of stress on the plants.

The biological cycle of this pest follows the classic pattern of hemimetabolous development, consisting of eggs, several larval stages (nymphs), a pupal stage, and the adult stage.
