The nebulosus diving beetle (scientific name: Agabus nebulosus) belongs to the Dytiscidae family of beetles within the order Coleoptera. While often viewed as part of a natural ecosystem, in the context of commercial aquatic plant nurseries and fish farms, this species can act as a significant pest that interferes with production stability.
These beetles are primarily found in standing or slow-moving water bodies. The adult Agabus nebulosus is typically characterized by a spotted, cloudy dorsal pattern, which provides effective camouflage in muddy or vegetated aquatic environments. They are strong swimmers, allowing them to migrate between nearby water sources easily.
