Description
Taxonomic position. The species belongs to the order Lepidoptera, family Tortricidae. Known commonly as a leafroller, this insect is recognized as a significant pest in agricultural and forestry ecosystems due to its larvae's feeding habits on various tree species.
Host plants. This pest primarily targets trees within the Rosaceae family. It is most frequently encountered on fruit-bearing trees such as apples, pears, cherries, and plums, where it exploits both vegetative buds and young leaf tissues for nutrition and shelter.
Biology and life cycle. The life cycle consists of egg, larva, pupa, and adult stages. Overwintering typically occurs as a larva or pupa hidden within protected sites like bark crevices, under dead plant debris, or in thick foliage.
