Bumblebee

Bumblebees (genus Bombus) belong to the order Hymenoptera and the family Apidae. It is scientifically and agronomically critical to recognize that bumblebees are not plant pests. They are highly beneficial insects that play an indispensable role in the reproductive success of a wide range of horticultural and agricultural crops worldwide.

The biology of Bombus species revolves around the social structure of their colonies. A queen establishes a nest in the spring, leading to the emergence of workers that forage for pollen and nectar.
