The Marbled skipper (Carcharodus lavaterae) is a butterfly species within the Hesperiidae family, belonging to the order Lepidoptera. While primarily studied for its ecological role, in certain agricultural settings, particularly where mallow-related crops are grown, its larvae may become a nuisance by consuming foliage.

This species primarily targets plants from the Malvaceae family. The larvae feed on the leaves of various mallows, which can include medicinal plants or specific ornamental species.
