Chileulia yerbalocae is a moth species belonging to the order Lepidoptera and the family Tortricidae. Known primarily as a leafroller, this insect is documented in South American agricultural regions, where it impacts both wild and cultivated plant species by utilizing them as hosts for larval development.

The pest primarily targets specific economic crops, particularly members of the Solanaceae family. During the larval stage, the insect feeds voraciously on foliage, buds, and fruit clusters. This herbivorous behavior leads to significant physical damage, which disrupts the normal developmental stages of the host plant and reduces overall biomass production.

The life cycle follows a complete metamorphosis: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. The larval stage is the most critical for agricultural management. The larvae exhibit characteristic behavior by rolling or folding leaves and securing them with silk threads, creating protected chambers that serve as both a food source and a shelter against environmental stressors.
