Cryptoblabes proleucella is a moth species belonging to the family Pyralidae, order Lepidoptera. Known as an agricultural pest, it primarily affects orchards and plantations, where its larvae thrive by feeding on various parts of host plants, often remaining hidden within buds or spun leaves to avoid natural predators.

The host range of this insect includes a variety of pome and stone fruit trees, such as apple and pear trees. The larvae pose a significant threat during the spring and summer months, as they feed on developing flower buds, foliage, and young fruit, which can lead to direct yield losses and fruit quality degradation.

The life cycle of the moth consists of distinct stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. The pest typically overwinters in the larval stage, protected within silken cocoons located in crevices of tree bark or under debris. After emerging in the spring, the adult moths mate and begin the cycle of egg deposition on susceptible plant tissues.
