The fruit tree rhynchites (Cyllorhynchites betuleti) is a significant pest belonging to the family Attelabidae, order Coleoptera. This beetle is a common inhabitant of temperate orchards, where it poses a recurring threat to the production of high-quality fruit crops due to its feeding habits.

This species primarily targets various fruit-bearing trees, such as apple, pear, plum, cherry, and quince. While it prefers managed orchard environments, it is also capable of feeding on wild Rosaceae species, which often serve as reservoirs for the pest population in surrounding areas.

The biological cycle involves both soil-dwelling stages and stages where the insect resides within the plant tissue. Overwintered adults emerge in early spring, coinciding with bud burst.
