The yellow coffee borer (Dirphya nigricornis) is a destructive species of longhorn beetle (Cerambycidae) known to cause significant damage to coffee plantations. Originating primarily in African coffee-growing regions, this pest is a major concern for farmers who rely on healthy coffee trees for their livelihood.

This species specifically targets coffee plants, with a preference for Arabica varieties. The pest has evolved to exploit the structural tissues of the tree, making it a challenging opponent for agricultural producers. The life cycle of Dirphya nigricornis begins when the female beetle deposits eggs into the bark of young stems or branches.
