Dorcaschema is a genus of longhorn beetles belonging to the family Cerambycidae. These insects are known to be significant pests of woody plants, particularly affecting trees within the Moraceae family. Their impact on plantation health makes them a subject of interest for both agricultural entomologists and foresters.

The primary host for species within the Dorcaschema genus is the mulberry tree (Morus). These beetles demonstrate a strong preference for healthy or slightly weakened trees, where adults lay their eggs on the bark or into the softer tissues of the branches, initiating the cycle of infestation.

The biology of the pest is centered around the wood-boring activity of the larvae. After hatching, the larvae burrow into the bark and sapwood. They create extensive galleries that disrupt the vascular tissue responsible for transporting water and nutrients, which is critical for the overall development and health of the mulberry tree.
