Eburia is a genus of longhorn beetles belonging to the family Cerambycidae, well-known for their significant impact on timber and ornamental trees. These beetles are predominantly found in the Americas and are characterized by their elongated, often ivory-colored markings on the elytra. As wood-boring insects, they play a complex role in forest ecosystems, though they are often considered major pests in managed landscapes.

The host range for Eburia species includes a variety of hardwood trees and sometimes conifers. They are particularly attracted to stressed trees, such as those suffering from drought, mechanical injuries, or root damage. By targeting these susceptible trees, Eburia can accelerate the decline of weakened forest stands and landscape plantings, creating a need for professional management and monitoring.

The biology of Eburia is marked by a protracted larval stage spent entirely within the wood. After hatching from eggs laid in bark crevices, larvae bore into the sapwood and heartwood. These galleries are essential for their growth but catastrophic for the host plant's structural integrity.
