The primary hosts for this pest are species of the genus Rubus, specifically raspberries. The larvae are leaf miners, meaning they spend their entire feeding stage within the internal tissues of the leaf. This mining behavior disrupts the plant's ability to photosynthesize, as it destroys the mesophyll layer where essential energy production takes place.
