The Mucronate oak borer (Elaphidion mucronatum) is a member of the longhorn beetle family (Cerambycidae) within the order Coleoptera. It acts as a primary wood-boring pest that targets a variety of deciduous trees, causing significant damage by feeding on the internal woody tissues of the host plant.

The host range of this insect is quite extensive, encompassing economically important crops such as apple, peach, and citrus, as well as various ornamental trees like oak, redbud, and wisteria.
