Epargyreus is a genus of butterflies within the Hesperiidae family, commonly known as skippers. Among the various species, Epargyreus clarus, the silver-spotted skipper, is the most recognized. While often considered a beneficial pollinator in natural habitats, it can act as an agricultural pest when population densities exceed the threshold in commercial legume fields.

Classified under the order Lepidoptera, these insects are characterized by their robust bodies and rapid, jerky flight patterns.
