Epilachna implicata is a species of herbivorous lady beetle belonging to the order Coleoptera and the family Coccinellidae. Unlike many well-known predatory ladybird beetles that feed on aphids, this species is specialized in consuming plant tissues, which classifies it as a significant agricultural pest in tropical and subtropical regions.

This pest primarily attacks crops within the Cucurbitaceae family, such as cucumbers, pumpkins, squash, and melons. Given its high feeding capacity, it can cause severe economic losses in vegetable production systems if left unchecked. The beetle is predominantly found in parts of Asia, where its population density can fluctuate significantly depending on seasonal rainfall and temperature.

The life cycle of Epilachna implicata consists of complete metamorphosis: eggs, larvae, pupae, and adults. Eggs are deposited in clusters on the abaxial side of leaves.
