Eriophyes chibaensis is a species of mite belonging to the family Eriophyidae within the order Acariformes. These microscopic organisms are known for their ability to induce abnormal growths, or galls, on their host plants by feeding on plant cells.

This pest primarily infests woody ornamental and fruit-bearing plants, specifically those in the Rosaceae family. By colonizing developing buds and young foliage, the mites disrupt the plant's structural development and metabolic processes from the very early stages of the growing season.
