Eurostus hilleri, commonly known as the Hiller weevil, belongs to the order Coleoptera and the Curculionidae family. This species is recognized as a significant pest that affects various ornamental and agricultural plants, often causing substantial losses in localized garden or forest areas.

The pest primarily targets the foliage and young buds of woody plants. Both adult weevils and their larvae contribute to the destruction of plant tissues. Adults typically feed externally, while larvae have a more cryptic lifestyle, often boring into soft stems or root crowns, which makes detection more difficult.

The biology of Eurostus hilleri follows a distinct seasonal pattern. Overwintering typically occurs in the adult stage, sheltered within the soil or deep beneath leaf litter.
