Ferussacia follicula is a small terrestrial gastropod belonging to the Ferussaciidae family. Unlike larger slugs, this pest possesses a fragile, elongated conical shell that protects it from desiccation, allowing it to reside within soil layers and organic debris effectively.

Taxonomically, this organism belongs to the order Stylommatophora. These snails thrive in moist, nutrient-rich environments. They are frequently observed in greenhouses and nurseries where high humidity and soil organic matter provide optimal conditions for their survival and colonization.

The pest primarily targets seedlings, young shoots of vegetable crops, and ornamental plants. By feeding on tender plant tissues, the snail creates holes in foliage and stems. This damage leads to stunted development, compromised plant immunity, and, in severe cases, the collapse of entire beds.
