The big-eyed bug, specifically Geocoris atricolor, belongs to the family Geocoridae within the order Hemiptera. These insects are well-known for their oversized eyes, which provide excellent vision for hunting prey. While they are often considered beneficial predators in many ecosystems, they possess the ability to switch to plant tissues when their primary prey source is scarce, categorizing them as potential pests in certain agricultural systems.
