The bee targets a variety of plant species, particularly roses, lilacs, and legumes. By cutting precise, circular segments from the leaf margins to construct their nests, the bees significantly reduce the leaf surface area available for photosynthesis, which can hinder the plant's overall development.

The biology of the species involves a solitary lifestyle. Females create tubular nests in hollow plant stems or existing cavities.
