The European grain moth (Nemapogon granella) belongs to the order Lepidoptera and the family Tineidae. It is a significant pest of stored agricultural products, commonly found in granaries, warehouses, and silos, where it thrives in stored grain and food products.

The primary hosts of this pest include wheat, barley, rye, oats, corn, and rice. In addition to cereal grains, the European grain moth is frequently reported attacking stored dry mushrooms, various seeds, nuts, dried fruits, and processed flour, making it a serious concern for food storage facilities.
