Neoneides is a genus of stilt bugs belonging to the family Berytidae, order Hemiptera. These insects are easily recognized by their extremely slender, elongated bodies and long, thin legs. This unique morphology allows them to reside comfortably within dense grass vegetation, where they mimic the stems, making them difficult to detect without careful field scouting.
The host range of Neoneides primarily includes various species of grasses. In an agricultural context, they are known to impact cereal crops, including wheat, barley, and rye, as well as various wild grasses surrounding the fields. By feeding on the plant sap, these bugs extract vital nutrients, which can impede the development of the affected crops during their early growth stages.
