Nesogonia is a genus of dragonflies belonging to the family Libellulidae within the order Odonata. In agricultural practice, while dragonflies are primarily known as beneficial predators, members of this genus warrant specialized attention due to their habitat requirements in aquatic irrigation systems, which can occasionally intersect with commercial agricultural activities.

The genus is typically distributed across specific tropical and insular regions. Within agricultural landscapes, they are most often observed in areas adjacent to rice paddies, irrigation ditches, and water management reservoirs. Their presence is indicative of the water quality and the surrounding biodiversity, which is essential for maintaining a balanced ecosystem in and around cultivated lands.

The life cycle of Nesogonia involves an aquatic nymph stage and an aerial adult stage. Females deposit eggs in water or submerged vegetation, where nymphs hatch and develop.
