Host plants: The primary host for this pest is the genus Rosa. The larvae are highly adapted to the specific phenology of rose bushes, synchronizing their emergence with the swelling and opening of the buds, which provides them with high-protein food essential for their rapid development.

Biology and life cycle: The pest overwinters as second-instar larvae in protective cocoons hidden within bark crevices or under old scales. In the spring, they emerge to feed on the developing buds. After pupation in rolled leaves or buds, the adults emerge, mate, and lay eggs on the leaves, completing their annual cycle.
