Obrussa is a genus of insects belonging to the family Nepticulidae, commonly known as leaf-mining moths. As a member of the order Lepidoptera, these tiny moths pose a specific challenge in agriculture and horticulture due to the cryptic nature of their larval stage, which feeds protected inside plant tissues.

These pests primarily target various species of fruit trees and woody shrubs. Their larvae are highly specialized feeders, often preferring the foliage of trees within the Rosaceae family. When a heavy infestation occurs, it can significantly impact the health of large orchards and nursery stocks.

The biology of Obrussa is characterized by its larval stage, which dwells within the leaf lamina. The adult moths lay eggs on the surface, and upon hatching, the small larvae create distinct, serpentine-like mines. These tunnels disrupt the photosynthetic layer of the leaf, hindering the plant's ability to produce energy through chlorophyll activity.
