Olenecamptus is a genus of beetles belonging to the longhorn beetle family (Cerambycidae), within the order Coleoptera. These insects are significant agricultural and forestry pests, primarily because their larval stages cause structural damage to the wood of various tree species, often remaining undetected until the infestation is advanced.

The host range of Olenecamptus includes a variety of deciduous trees and shrubs. Common hosts often include species such as figs (Ficus), mulberry trees (Morus), and various apple varieties. In some regions, they are considered major pests of cultivated fruit trees, reducing yield and affecting the lifespan of the affected plants.

The biological cycle involves the female laying eggs in crevices or wounds on the bark of host trees. Upon hatching, the larvae bore into the bark and move into the cambium and xylem layers. They feed extensively on the wood, creating galleries that disrupt nutrient and water transport, leading to the gradual decline of the plant.

The damage caused by these beetles is characterized by wilting foliage, branch dieback, and the presence of small, circular exit holes on the bark where adult beetles have emerged.
