Oncideres miniata is a beetle species belonging to the family Cerambycidae, commonly known as longhorned beetles or longhorns. This particular species is categorized among the twig girdlers, which are well-known in entomology for their unique and destructive reproductive behavior. These beetles possess strong mandibles capable of cutting through the bark and cambium layers of various host trees.

The host range for this pest includes a variety of hardwood trees and ornamental shrubs. By targeting young branches, the insect directly interferes with the nutrient transport system of the plant.
